Cubs Dugout Scuffle and fascination with Charlie Sheen

Okay, well that took long.  The other crazy Carlos caused all the hub bub today in the Cubs clubhouse. While I can see why Silva would get upset. 3 first inning errors does not do much to help a guy win a rotation spot, especially when he has been giving up a ton of gopher balls since the 2010 all star break. To be honest, this is the best thing that could have happened.  Silva should not be at the back end of the rotation. He is not good. He is overweight. And apparently he is crazy.   He seems to have gone after Rammy after Ram made an error in the first.  This looks to me like a guy who cannot handle the pressure. He has one bad inning and loses it.  He is in a 5-way battle for 2 spots and Silva cannot seem to keep his composure.  If Silva does not think that the Cubs management would not take the errors into account when he was on the mound, he is a moron.  This is a guy that cannot take the heat.  He was sweating when Quade said there would be a competition for those spots and said that he did not think he should have to compete for his spot because of how he pitched last year.  From July 11th until the last game of the season, Silva pitched 12.2 Innings and during that time he gave up 20 ER.That is an ERA of near 17. I want this guy out of town yesterday, and this incident should go a long way in making that happen.

Next up, according to Reed Johnson, the Cubs clubhouse has been glued to the Charlie Sheen situation.  Now, while I do think Sheen is crazy, he does have one main message : WINNING.  Charlie Sheen is about WINNING every single day; one day at a time, and to be honest, I kind of like the fascination with Charlie. While winning means two different things to the Cubs and Charlie, smoking crack rock and winning a World Series, I like it. We are talking about Ricky Vaughn here, the guy who pitched the Indians to back to back division titles and a world series appearance.  I just hope that the Cubs are taking that message of WINNING every day seriously.
