Well, if Jerry Reinsdorf did not own the White Sox he would probably be my favorite owner alive right now. The audacity of Jerry to say that this team is good enough to win 4 championships is just awesome. These are just a few of Jerry's recent quotes :
"If you don't see something special in Derrick Rose, then you're blind," Reinsdorf told the Chicago Sun-Times. "We have an outstanding coach, an outstanding bunch of players, the team is deep, and if we stay healthy we have an awfully good chance of winning at least four championships."
And here's another Jerry gem from the preseason:
“I also think we’re a better team than Miami right now, assuming we get a shooting guard. Of course, with LeBron we would’ve been a great team. Without him, we’re still going to be a very good team. If you look at the Miami roster with these three guys but not much else, I think we’ll be better next year.”
Jerry was all over this before the season even started. I also wanted to point out what a pleasure it is to have an owner who actually knows what the hell he is talking about. After years of Cubs torture with ownership, it is just an absolute pleasure to have a guy like this in charge when you have to cheer for a disaster like the Cubs. Anyways, does anyone think this team can win 4 NBA titles? I mean as someone who is always up for some Kool-Aid, I would say absolutely. The Celtics will be an afterthought in 2 years, the Heat will be a team of stars and unless they can draft some help won't be getting any better. This Bulls team on the other hand with D-Rose coming into his own, could really have a great shot of playing in the finals 5 or so times before Derrick even turns 30. Therefore, I do not think the CHAIRMAN was just boasting. We should probably take what Jerry says as plain FACT from here on out.
While I like Jerry as an owner, the Bull's could have done with out this comment. What separates the Bull's and Rose from the Heat and Lebron is humility and Jerry just put a scratch in the armor.
