Well Done Randy

Well, that was one hell of an outing from Randy after giving up a HR to the first batter of the day.  Apparently, he wasn't drunk for once. Randy was able to pitch his way out of trouble all day and got some big ground balls and strike outs in key situations.  Randy kept his sinker down for the most part and threw some great change ups.  When Randy handed it off to the bullpen, they were able to battle and gave up nothing again.  In the 8th, Kerry Wood pitched a great inning.  Starlin Castro made an error by being a bit lackadaisical on a ground ball hit by Justin Upton and Upton was able to beat it out.  The K Kid got some big outs after loading the bases. He got a big 1-out strikeout with the bags juiced and then got the last out on a groundball to Bake.  Marmol of course walked the opening hitter in the 9th, but calmed down after that to close it down.

Providing the pop today was Al Soriano again.  It's great to see him getting off to a hot start.  All 4 of his hits have been run producing hits.  He has got to be the scariest 7 hitter in baseball.  And yes I know he is the highest paid 7 hitter in baseball as well.  Carlos Pena also played a real nice game today defensively and offensively.  He hit the ball hard every time he was up today except for his AB in the 7th.  Anyways, lets see if the Cubs sticks can keep giving the pitching staff adequate support and that Cash can go out there and get some outs.  If the Cubs can win tomorrow, it will be the first time since 2009 that they were over. 500 at any point in the season.
