Cry Me A River
Between the Master's, Blackhawks and Bulls dominating yesterday's daytime TV rotation, I have a feeling most people missed this interview on ESPN. I stumbled upon it half way through with a sobbing Tom Brady struggling to get a word out and apologizing to the camera for letting his emotions get the best of him. I paused to let the interview play out because I thought for sure something serious had happened. These ESPN stories are always inspirational and depressing at the same time, so why would this be any different? Eventually Brady was able to gain his composure and says, "Then finally the Patriots called my name." Wait, what? This puddle of tears is about getting drafted in the 6th round and not the 3rd round? I get it, it sucks to be passed up by other teams and it's normal to hold a grudge against those teams but let's save the tears. Maurice Jones Drew did the same interview and talked about wearing the #32 because that's the number of teams that passed on him in the first round. MJD also talked about how he changed his last name in honor of his late grandfather that raised him and passed away during his final college season and he didn't shed a tear. News flash for Tom, you got the last laugh. You have more MVP's and Super Bowl trophies than all the QB's taken ahead of you combined and are a first ballot hall of famer so let's not get so dramatic here. Usually you hear people say that Tom Brady has it all being the star QB, having millions of dollars and and being married to a model but if you combine this with the hair, dance moves in Rio and man Uggs, you gotta start to question this guy.
P.S. In case you were wondering, the Bears had two 6th round draft picks and took WR Frank Murphy and K Paul Edinger, both who were drafted before Brady.
